Lynn Nolen, MS, CALT

Description:

Lynn Nolen serves traditional and nontraditional learners with passion, creativity, and excitement.  Her mission, “Empower students to reach their maximum academic potential by understanding their specific learning style and exercising self-advocacy,” is the cornerstone of her work. Lynn has worked with diagnosed learning differences for over 30 years and currently offers a variety of services to students and parents including organizational skills; time management; study techniques; self-advocacy; reading comprehension; alphabetic phonics; written expression; and problem-solving. Additionally, Lynn navigates the 504 system/accommodations with students and parents, overseeing all aspects of the educational environment to ensure successful students. Through years of analyzing diagnostic reports, she establishes action plans to achieve appropriate steps. Finally, Lynn conducts speaking sessions to educators and parents on a variety of topics.

  • Engage students in the learning process
  • Empower students to become self-advocates

Recognitions:

Lynn formerly served as President of the Orton Dyslexia Society and was one of the founding members of Academic Language Therapist Association (ALTA). She received recognition as Teacher Mentor of the Year at The Hockaday School. Lynn speaks on topics such as: Study Skills, Time Management, Reading Comprehension, and Social/Emotional Learning.

  • Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (Specialization in LLD) – Baylor University
