classes and programsCamp GTWIt's always a great time to be a girl at GTW and this summer is no exception! Our staff of professionals and teen/young adult mentors facilitate fun, interactive programs addressing friendship, stress management, body image and social skills. Highlights include drop0in visits by professionals in various fields such as physicians, counselors, dancers, beauty experts and more. For girls entering grades 5, 6, 7 and 8.
Camp Dates: Erin Bauer, Camp GTW Director, has extensive experience working with middle school girls. Her enthusiasm and popularity with her students makes her an ideal camp facilitator. With a maximum of 15 campers per session, girls are afforded the opportunity to come with old friends and leave with new ones! Crafts at Camp GTW are not your ordinary projects. Our craft expert will help us learn to knit, paint wall art, design our own journals, decorate a special box, make our own greeting cards, scrapbooks and so much more! Each day is a new project. For girls and women ages 14 and up. Self defense expert Kathy Patrick will use hands-on teaching as she instructs participants in how to avoid and handle dangerous situations. Training scenarios place you in real life threatening situations including shopping at the mall, jogging, dating and parking lots. The techniques you will learn are simple yet effective. At the conclusion of the workshop all participants will receive a booklet that covers the moves taught in class. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a light snack and beverage. Discover the sources of stress and strategies for helping kids and adults cope with the mountains and molehills of life.
